Trip Extension Itinerary

DAY 19 : Kathmandu, Nepal / Paro, Bhutan

Fly from Kathmandu to Paro, Bhutan. Transfer by coach to your hotel and check in, with free time for lunch on your own. Dinner is included at the hotel.

DAY 20 : Paro

Morning tour of Paro, including a visit to the National Museum, the Paro Dzong, Old Town, and a local school. Also, views of dramatic Tiger's Nest Dzong, which clings to a cliff side. Followed by Kyichu temple butter lamp offering and short prayer ceremony. Lunch is included at a local restaurant and dinner is included at the hotel.

DAY 21 : Paro / Punakha, Bhutan

Transfer to Punakha, Bhutan’s spiritual capital, and drive over Dochu La Pass with views of the Himalayas (weather permitting). Lunch today is included at the hotel. In the afternoon, depart on an excursion to zongs (Buddhist temples) in Punakha, including a scenic walk to the Divine Madman’s Temple, a visit to Sangchen Dorji Lhendrupcholing Monastery, and a visit to a local market. You'll also visit the Bhutan Souvenir Production Traning Centre to see where girls are trained each year to produce souvenir handcrafts. Dinner is included at the hotel.

DAY 22 : Punakha / Thimpu, Bhutan

Motorcoach to Thimpu, with a stop at the Takin Preserve Zoo en route. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel where you'll enjoy an included lunch and the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Evening cultural show with dinner.

DAY 23 : Thimphu

Full-day Bhutan Cultural Tour with visits to a traditional painting school, the Folk Museum, a local hospital, the Textile Museum, the Archery Ground, the National Library, and the Botanical Garden, with lunch included at a local restaurant. Dinner is included at the hotel.

DAY 24 : Thimpu / Paro / Delhi, India

Fly to Delhi. Check in to the hotel where you'll have your room until just before you depart to the airport for your return flight home.

Fly home. Your flight from Delhi departs very early morning, arriving back in the U.S. on Day 25.
