DAYS 1-2: Depart Home / Overnight Flight / Istanbul, Turkey

After an overnight flight, you’ll arrive in Istanbul on Day 2. Transfer to the hotel and settle in during an evening at leisure.

DAY 3 : Istanbul

The Basilica Cistern, one of Istanbul’s trademark sites, is your first stop today. Visit this “Sunken Palace,” an underground water system decorated with intricately carved columns and statues. Then, view more ancient Turkish artifacts during a visit to the Istanbul Archaeology Museum. Lunch is on your own, and your afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 4 : Istanbul

Your morning is at leisure. Later on, meet up with the rest of your fellow travelers as you join Day 2 of the Base Program.

On Day 3, you’ll take a city tour including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Pan Athenian Stadium, and the Presidential Palace. This afternoon, enjoy a guided visit to the Acropolis (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) including the Parthenon, the Propylae, and the New Museum. The afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at leisure.
On Day 4, you’ll join an excursion to scenic Cape Sounion — site of the Temple of Poseidon. The afternoon and evening are at leisure.
