CRUISE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA
- Breakfast, lunch & dinner on board ship
- The ship will negotiate the narrow passage between Booth Island and the Antarctica Peninsula. known as the Lemaire Channel, named ironically for the Belgian explorer of the Congo.
- You’ll be awed by the majesty of this frozen landscape and delighted by your sightings of blue-eyed shags, cape petrels, creabeater seals, humpback, minke and killer whales.
- You’ll aboard PolarCirkel boats will be attempted in various locations (weather permitting), including:
- Whalers Bay on Deception Island
- Almirante Brown in Paradise Harbor
- Port Lockroy, is one of the top tourist sites in Antarctica, as well as an important British base, where postcards postmarked “Antarctica” can be purchased
- For safety reasons, following Antarctic Treaty’s Recommendation XVII-1 and the IAATO Guidelines for Visitors to Antarctica that prevent unnecessary impact on the environment, landing groups can not exceed a maximum of 100 people at each time. Large, sturdy RIB’s (Polar Cirkel boats), handled by the vessel’s officers will be used to transport you on shore.
