Depart Home / Bergen, Norway

Your trip begins with your flight to Bergen, a major port in the Hanseatic League of merchant cities. After your Day 2 arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where lunch and dinner are on your own. On day 3, following a welcome meeting, you will set off on your Bergen city tour. You’ll stroll the Bryggen Wharf area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll visit Troldhaugen, summer home of Edvard Grieg, Norway’s most beloved composer and one of the top attractions in the country. You’ll have the afternoon free.

Bergen / Embark Ship

Your morning is at leisure or join an optional tour, "Old and New Norway." This afternoon, board your Norwegian coastal ship. Get settled, then enjoy your first dinner aboard as the ship casts off for the beautiful coastline of Norway, heading for “the top of Europe!”

Maloy / Torvik / Alesund / Kristiansund

Today, you’ll be crossing the Stadthavet enroute to Torvik. On the way, you’ll visit the Art Nouveau town of Alesund and later make a stop in Molde. The town was a trading port dating to the Middle Ages.

Trondheim / Rorvik

After our early arrival in Trondheim , you’ll have time to explore. Sail next to Rorvik, a busy fishing community that lies at the center of 6000 Islands.

Ornes / Bodo / Stamsund / Svolvaer

We’ll cross the Arctic Circle today, passing the soaring Borvass Mountains. You’ll have a chance to stroll in the town of Bodo, then cross Vestfjord towards the spectacular Lofoten Islands and the villages of Stamsund and Svolvaer. In the evening, our cruise takes us to the entrance to Trollfjord, which is framed by jagged peaks.

Harstad / Finnsnes / Tromso / Skjervoy

Enjoy the view as your ship sails north past a chain of islands to Harstad. In the village of Finnsnes, take a short guided stroll. You’ll next cruise through Vagsfjord and Malangen enroute to Tromso, the gateway to Arctic Norway. The enthusiastic residents of this town of colorful wooden houses make the best of both their long summer days and their long winter nights.

Hammerfest / Havoysund / Honningsvag / Kjollefjord

As you cruise along Norway’s northernmost region, you’ll call at quiet fishing villages and bustling ports, including Havoysund and Honningsvag, the capital of North Cape. The town was destroyed by German bombs during World War II except for the church, because, it was said, the German commandant enjoyed the organ music!

Kirkenes / Vardo / Batsfjord / Berlevag

Early on Day 10, arrive at Kirkenes, land of Sami and reindeer, your turnaround point. Just a few miles from the Russian border, this remote town was a tense border area during the Cold War. As we head south, you’ll find a completely different cruise unfolds; you’ll make daylight calls at ports passed in the night on the northbound trip. A visit to tiny Vardo is a case in point.

Honningsvag / Havoysund / Hammerfest / Oksfjord /

You’ll call at Hammerfest and a few tiny villages, then cruise to Tromso in time to enjoy the evening.

Harstad / Risoyhamn / Sortland /

The island groups of Lofoten and Vesteralen present some of the most stunning scenery on your journey. Call at island ports such as Sortland and Stokmarknes as you pass through Raftsund Strait into breathtaking Trollfjord, arriving at Stamsund for the evening.

Ornes / Nesna / Sandnessjoen / Bronnoysund / Rorvi

After leaving Ornes, we sail through narrow straits bordered by lush farm fields. Crossing southward over the Arctic Circle, you’ll call at Sandnessjoen, the island port that is connected to the mainland by an impressive new cable bridge. You’ll be able to view the Seven Sisters, a dramatic chain of seven peaks, as we approach Bronnoysund.

Trondheim / Kristiansund / Alesund

Trondheim, Norway’s third-largest city, is a lively university town of colorful buildings and broad streets. Almost the entire city was rebuilt in the 17th century after a devestating fire. During your visit, consider seeing Norway’s largest medieval church, Nidaros Cathedral, and the restored Archbishop’s Residence. Next cruise through beautiful Trondheimsfjord to Kristiansund.

Torvik / Maloy / Floro / Bergen / Disembark ship

“The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage” is nearing its end, but you still have scenic cruising to enjoy as we approach Bergen. After you disembark, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a final night in this delightful city.
