PACING
On this well-paced itinerary you’ll visit 11 ports of call in 14 days, spending 12 nights aboard a Vantage Deluxe River Cruise Ship. This itinerary highlights the wine regions and storybook towns along the lower Rhine.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
This is an active itinerary featuring multiple walking tours. While the rise in the ports visited is not particularly steep, you can expect short uphill stretches as you set out on walking tours and go through some portions of medieval towns. Much of the walking on tours is over uneven terrain, cobblestone walkways, and flagstone paths. Panoramic tours primarily use air-conditioned motorcoaches, and you can expect drives of up to an hour or more. Motorcoaches are used whenever possible to bring you as close to pedestrian centers as the historic preservation of these older towns and cities will allow. Museum visits involve multiple flights of stairs, and there is a canal boat in Strasbourg to embark and disembark.
