This journey is for physically fit travelers. You must be able to climb riverbanks and steep stairs in undeveloped areas, as well as stairs aboard the ships. Some roads and paths throughout the tour are unpaved, so please dress appropriately for dusty/muddy areas. The climate in this region is tropical with high levels of humidity, and heavy rain is possible during September and early October.

If you want to get around as the locals do – and enjoy a fresh perspective on Southeast Asian life — try cycling during your journey. While the busy streets of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City may not be for the faint of heart, there are beautiful, flat, easy bike paths all around Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and they lead to all the attractions. Bicycles can be rented at your hotel and other outlets in town – your Adventure Leader can point you in the right direction.
