The rich history of Malaga can be found virtually everywhere you look: in the ancient Roman theater, the massive the Cathedral of Malaga, and the Moorish Alcazaba. This extension gives you more time to get to know the passionate personality of this Costa del Sol city, and includes a guided visit to the museum of favorite son Pablo Picasso. In your free time, you may wish to visit a bullring, just as the revered artist did when he was a child, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere here.

DAYS 1-2 : Depart home / Overnight flight to Malaga

After an overnight flight to Malaga, you’ll transfer to your hotel in the heart of the city. Depending on your arrival time, you can have a walk around the vicinity with your City Host, who will introduce you to the charms of Malaga. Dinner is on your own this evening.

DAY 3 : Malaga

After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, you’ll set off to explore the one of the most ancient cities in the world. Founded by the Phoenicians in 770 BC, the city has been ruled by everyone from the Romans to the Moors over the millennia since. Today, Malaga is well known as the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, and you’ll discover the museum dedicated to the legendary painter on a guided visit.

Today, enjoy a day at leisure and join your fellow travelers on Day 2 of the Base Program.

DAY 18: London

This morning after breakfast, you’ll visit Hampton Court on an included half-day tour. The palace and its gardens are breathtaking, especially intricate Tudor brickwork and stained-glass windows. Other points of interest include a maze, historic tennis courts, and the world’s largest grapevine.

This afternoon, explore more of the English capital on your own.

DAY 19: London

Today you’ll have an entire day at leisure—perhaps you’ll do some shopping in the West End, or visit a few of the city’s excellent museums like the Tate Modern. Or, join our optional tour to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, and the official residence of the British monarchy for nine centuries. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own.

DAY 20: London / Return home
