Extension Image

FROM $1,399 PER PERSON | 4 DAYS | $349 PER DAY

Kick off your Vantage Adventure with the perfect small group safari experience! Right from your private veranda, watch as rhinos, elephants, zebras, and numerous other species come to drink at a waterhole. Sweetwaters Tented Camp overlooks the central water hole in private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which boasts one of the highest wildlife concentrations in Kenya. In addition to the wildlife right outside your front door, you’ll also go on three guided game drives to seek out “The Big Five” and other rare and endangered animals, plus you’ll visit the preserve’s chimp sanctuary. Your route to the camp takes you across the Equator, where you’ll stop to witness an uncanny water demonstration of the coriolis effect, which explains the opposite spinning direction of storms in the Northern versus the Southern hemispheres.

  • Roundtrip transportation between Nairobi and Nanyuki, Kenya (Sweetwaters)

DAY 3 : Nairobi /Sweetwaters, Kenya

After breakfast drive to rural Nanyuki, Kenya, home of the Ol Pejata Sanctuary. En route, we cross the Equator, where we’ll stop to observe the coriolis effect on swirling water— which explains why storms spin one direction in the Northern Hemisphere and the opposite in the Southern. Continue on to Sweetwaters Tented Camp in the private Ol Pejata Conversancy, which has the highest wildlife concentration per acre in Kenya. Amidst a magnificent setting of open plains, an ideal locale for our small group, you'll be shown to your deluxe safari tent, then we enjoy lunch at the camp dining room. In the afternoon, set out on the first of three guided game drives in the preserve. We’ll also stop at the conservancy's sanctuary for orphaned chimps, the only such facility in Kenya, where you can observe and learn about these intelligent primates.

 Included meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY 4 : Sweetwaters, Kenya

The beauty of Sweetwaters for wildlife viewing is that your private veranda looks right over one of the Ol Pejata Conservancy's central water holes, so you're practically guaranteed sightings at almost any time. In addition, you'll go on morning and afternoon game drives to seek out animals farther afield. Ol Pejata is a large private reserve, one of just four in Kenya. During our game drives, we’re likely to see some of the "Big Five" — lion, elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. The conservancy is also the largest sanctuary for the endangered black rhino in East Africa, as well as for other rhinoceros species.

 Included meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY 5 : Sweetwaters / Nairobi, Kenya

Following breakfast, drive to Nairobi, arriving midday. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to join the Base program. Afternoon is at leisure.

 Included meals: breakfast
