Activities & Cultural Immersion
This trip is rated Active
Our days are very full and include daily walking, sometimes on cobbled or uneven terrain. Some ancient attractions we visit feature some uphill climbing and narrow or small entryways that require a certain amount of agility to manage. There are two long overland transfers. We break these up with stops for rest, refreshment, and sightseeing. You will have the opportunity to participate in some elective but included activities (such as camel riding) that may be physically demanding for some, and are only suggested for fully mobile travelers. Expect high temperatures, particularly in desert locations, during summer departures.
Your Israel and Jordan adventure will feature numerous cultural exchanges with local people and cultures — such as visits (and meals) with Druze, Jewish, and Bedouin communities. Your trip gives you the opportunity to experience different local religions, languages, cuisines, and arts as you travel the two nations.
