Activities & Entertainment
This trip is rated Moderate
Almost all sightseeing is on an air-conditioned coach with rest stops, lunch stops, and photo stops en route. Some stair-climbing may be required to get better views, and in the National Parks you will have opportunities to walk on trails that may be rough or steep. You will experience high altitudes (up to 9,000 feet) on this U.S. National Parks tour, which may affect breathing in some. Temperatures are at their highest in July and August, but it is a dry heat, and tours will take place at the cooler time of the day.
Get Out & Get Active
During the course of your journey, opportunities abound for getting out on independent walks, hikes, birdwatching, and other activities, particularly in the National Parks. During your resort stay in Scottsdale, you'll be able to take advantage of the many opportunities available, from spa treatments to swimming.
Biking is not only a wonderful way to exercise, it is also a great way to experience the American Southwest. Look for biking and mountain biking at select destinations. Your Adventure Leader will advise you when biking is available.
Let Us Entertain You
You’ll be exposed to local arts, particularly during your visit to Sedona, as well as a true slice of Americana as you travel the open roads of the Southwest. At your Western-themed Farewell Dinner in Kanab, Utah, enjoy Cowboy Karaoke and other entertainment. On the final night of your trip, you'll have the myriad entertainment opportunities of Las Vegas at your disposal, from floor shows to big-name entertainers.
