PACING: Four U.S. National Parks in six states over the course of 15 days via motorcoach, with five 10-night stays and two 2-night stays. This is a busy itinerary packed with outdoor sightseeing within some of the world's greatest natural settings. Days often begin early with bus transfers starting at 8 am and ending at approximately 5 pm. However, each day is rewarding, with scenic splendor, included rest stops, and visits to “must-see” attractions.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Almost all sightseeing is on an air-conditioned coach with rest stops, lunch stops, and photo stops en route. A professional Vantage Adventure Leader will guide you on short walks to see highlights of the National Parks. Some stair-climbing may be required to get better views of canyons, etc. Other forms of transportation include a ride aboard the Grand Canyon Railway, a cruise ship on Lake Powell, and an open raft on the Colorado River, as well as an optional helicopter flight in the Grand Canyon.

CULTURAL FOCUS: Opportunity to experience four "crown jewels" of the U.S. National Parks system during visits to four parks — and to appreciate the natural wonders found there (geothermal, rock formations, fauna, animal life, geology, and more). There are also several Cultural Discoveries that give you an insight into both the contemporary and historic Southwest. In addition to Vantage sightseeing, everyone is invited to participate in U.S. National Park Ranger events and activities while visiting the parks.

Your hotels and lodges range from a world-famous resort spa to a U.S. Official National Park lodge to basic-but-comfortable "motor inns" in the wide open spaces of the Southwest that are a slice of Americana. While some may not be rated by the Hotel & Travel Index, they have been personally inspected and approved by Vantage staff for quality, value, and comfort. On some departures, your hotel accommodations in the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, and Zion Canyon areas may be substituted with similar accommodations.

SPECIAL FACTORS: Temperatures are at their highest in July and August and can reach 90 to 100 degrees in Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. However, it is a dry heat and passengers travel in air-conditioned coaches or in covered sightseeing vehicles, and tours take place during cooler hours of the day. Most hotels and lodges are air-conditioned. This Vantage Adventure offers the opportunity to travel a great distance and see these magnificent parks within a short time. Vantage recommends that passengers with respiratory or heart conditions check with their physicians, as the higher altitudes (up to 9,000 feet) may affect breathing. Please Note: Breakfast will be provided daily at the hotels.

Please note: We recommend that you bring a flashlight on this trip.

Please Note: All sightseeing is subject to change due to road conditions, repairs, and weather conditions. Seasonality may affect the frequency and availability of ranger activities within the National Parks.

Please Note: In the National Parks, and in some of the more remote areas, you will stay in lodges that are basic but comfortable. Although not rated by the Hotel & Travel Index, they have been personally inspected by Vantage staff. On some departures, your hotel accommodations may be substituted with similar accommodations.

*All park and hotel accommodations are non-smoking.
