Depart Home / Fly to Santiago, Chile

After your overnight flight on Day 2, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to the Superior First-Class InterContinental Santiago (or similar). In the afternoon, set off on an included tour of the city’s highlights, including the Club Hipico horseracing track; the Parque O’Higgins and the Cousino Palace; the Alameda, Santiago’s colorful main avenue; the Plaza de Armas and cathedral; and the famous Central Market.

Days 3 and 4 are at leisure to explore this lively city. Or join us on a selection of optional tours.

Santiago / Valparaiso / Embark Ship

After breakfast, you’ll transfer overland to Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. En route, you’ll stop at the elegant beach resort town of Vina del Mar, the “Garden City,” one of Chile’s premier beach resorts. There, enjoy an included local lunch of empanadas. Late this afternoon, you’ll embark the Norwegian Sun, settle into your stateroom, and set sail.

Cruise the Chilean Coast

Relax and enjoy the amenities of the Norwegian Sun during Day 6’s full-day cruise.
On Day 7, you’ll arrive in Puerto Montt, and spend the day at leisure in this picturesque town nestled beside the Andean foothills in the heart of Chile’s famed Lake District.
Day 8 brings you to Puerto Chacabuco, a remote outpost where you can admire the frontier spirit and brilliant displays of ice plunging dramatically into the sea.

Cruise the Patagonia Channel, the Chilean Fjords

Get ready to feast your eyes on some of the world’s most spectacular scenery. Natural wonders abound as you transit the Darwin Canal, pass the mighty Aisén Glacier, and cruise Chile’s famous fjords and the Patagonic Channel. On Day 11, follow your whims in Punta Arenas, a thriving city known as the “Gateway to Antarctica.”

Cruise the “Land of Fire”

Cruise the Beagle Channel, and take in views of the windswept plains, clear lakes, and soaring mountains of Tierra del Fuego — the “Land of Fire.” You’ll also spend an afternoon in its capital city, Ushuaia, where you’ll discover wildlife-filled islands, or perhaps visit Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego.

Cruise Cape Horn & the Argentine Coast

On Day 13, you’ll make your way around the tip of the infamous Cape Horn, the southernmost point in South America and a major trade route before the opening of the Panama Canal. The next day, behold white quartz beaches and dramatic cliffs as you approach Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, and step ashore to enjoy its British ambiance.
Relax aboard ship en route to Day 16’s stop at Welsh-influenced Puerto Madryn, Argentina, best known for its sun-bathing penguins and colony of elephant seals. Enjoy a final full day at sea on Day 17. Perhaps you’ll simply sit up on deck and enjoy the passing scenery.

Montevideo, Uruguay

Add another stamp to your passport today as we call on Uruguay’s capital city. Delight in Montevideo’s lavender-flavored jacaranda trees and colorful markets during your time at leisure here.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Disembark ship in Buenos Aires on Day 19, and transfer to the Superior First Class Hotel Panamericano in the elegant Recoleta district. On your included tour later today, you’ll visit La Boca, Buenos Aires’ bustling “Little Italy,” as well as the Recoleta area of the city where you’ll learn about national heroine Eva Perón.

The remainder of your time here is at leisure. Enjoy optional dinner and performance of the tango, here in the city where this fiery dance was born. On Day 21’s full-day optional Estancia tour, you can visit a ranch to view a dazzling display of horsemanship and savor an authentic Argentine barbecue.

Buenos Aires / Return Home

Day 22 is yours at leisure to discover Buenos Aires, known as "the Paris of South America." Visit the Teatro Colon, one of the world's greatest opera houses, or one of the numerous museums and galleries throughout the city. Or, join an optional tour to Tigre Delta, including an exclusive cruise. Late this afternoon, you'll be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight home, arriving in the U.S. on the morning of Day 23.
