Tito's Memorial and Royal Palace

Start your tour at the Royal Compound in Dedinje, a fashionable district of Belgrade. King Alexander I Karađorđević built it for his family in the 1920s, before his assassination in 1934 changed the course of Yugoslavian history. Today, the Crown Prince Alexander Karađorđević and his family live in the Royal Palace. You’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the grounds, the Royal Palace, and the Church of Saint Andrej the First-Called, along with a welcome drink. Your next stop is the memorial to former President of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito and the museum showcasing tributes he received during his rule.

AVAILABLE ON TRANSYLVANIA EXTENSION ONLY: Discover Transylvania’s fairy-tale village of Sighisoara, a 12th-century Saxon settlement whose central citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With nine towers, cobbled streets, burgher houses, and ornate churches, Sighisoara’s beautifully preserved medieval character rivals that of Old Prague or Vienna. The city’s other claim to fame is the birthplace of Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), ruler of the province of Walachia from 1456 to 1462. It was he who inspired Bram Stoker’s fictional creation, Count Dracula. You’ll learn the city’s fabled history on a guided walking tour that includes lunch at a local restaurant.

Wieliczka Salt Mine

Situated close to the town of Krakow, the Wieliczka Salt Mine is considered to be one of the world’s greatest wonders and has been on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list since 1978. You’ll also visit St. King’s Chapel, a breathtaking subterranean church with crystal chandeliers and altars, sculptures, and floor paving carved from the salt layers.
