Bruges walking tour and canal cruise, pub crawl
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, and then embark on a walking tour of Bruges. Explore the Market Square and see the iconic Church of Our Lady from the outside — its tower is the second-largest brickwork tower in the world and is truly a sight to behold. You'll also set off on a canal cruise that will allow you to admire the arched bridges and charming gardens as your boat plies these tranquil waters. Your afternoon is at leisure to explore the same canals, as well as the lovely homes once owned by wealthy textile merchants. You can also discover Bruges' restaurants and shops, perhaps even seeing some handmade lace, a product for which Bruges is renowned.
You won’t want to leave Belgium without sampling its famous beers, considered by many connoisseurs to be the finest in the world. So, join your travel mates this evening for an included pub crawl after dinner on your own. You’ll meet up in the hotel lobby.
Enjoy Bruges at leisure or experience its Delights on an optional tour
After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to discover this magical city on your own. Or embark on an optional tour of "Bruges Delights." This is a foray into the city's culinary treasures, and will take you to a chocolatier, a local pub for some beer tasting, and a stop for a delicious Belgian "lace cookie." This is an ideal excursion for those looking to taste some of the country's signature food and drink. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Among the most famous “delights” are Belgian chocolates! Nothing like what you’ll find in other parts of the world, Belgian sweets are much richer and this world-renowned chocolate is a true treat. On this optional tour, hear how to make the perfect chocolate — while tasting some! You'll also sample light, crisp, and elegant lace cookies, which are named after the lace-like holes that form as they bake. But if the sweets don’t do it for you, the beers just might. This little country makes a lot of beer (almost 200 breweries reside here!) and really good beer, too — from Flemish reds to lambics, dubbels to blondes. You probably won’t be able to try them all, but while on cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to taste a few.
