Your personal haven is no less luxurious and generous: the Nebu

Plus, there are four rooms just for singles. Naturally, to complement the 5-star facilities on your cruise, you’ll be staying in Egypt’s top luxury hotels on shore. From the iconic Nile Ritz-Carlton
in Cairo to the extravagant Four Seasons
in Alexandria, you’ll be pampered in every port.
One of the perks of traveling with Vantage is access to superlative experiences you wouldn’t find anywhere else. On this Inaugural Adventure, we’ve arranged exclusive admission to two very special locations: a private audience with the Great Sphinx, and a dinner dance in Luxor Temple. The Great Sphinx is undoubtedly one of ancient Egypt’s most iconic and enigmatic monuments. But, most tourists must be content with gazing upon it from a distance. For this remarkable journey, we’ve arranged for special permission from the Minister of Antiquities to stand right between the paws of the Sphinx, where the pharaoh Thutmose IV placed his dream stele more than 3,500 years ago.
A prophetic dream or a support story?
The dream stele is carved with the story of a vision Thutmose IV had when he fell asleep beside the head of the Sphinx. The Sphinx was already over a thousand years old then, and was mostly buried beneath the sand. According to Thutmose IV, the god Amun-Ra appeared to him and said that if he removed the sand from around the Sphinx, he would become king of upper and lower Egypt. Some scholars say this was a story invented by Thutmose to legitimize his rule, while others have speculated that he had epilepsy.
You’ll also toast the first night of your cruise with a magical evening of feasting and merriment in the splendid Temple of Luxor. It’s hard to imagine a more spectacular location for a celebration. Amongst the towering columns and giant colossi, you’ll be treated to a private gala dinner under the stars, accompanied by the evocative melodies of a talented harpist. As you dance the night away in one of ancient Egypt’s most powerful temples, you’ll have the surreal sensation of millennia of history merging into a uniquely memorable moment.
This Inaugural Adventure offers many opportunities to experience authentic Egyptian culture, as well as two very special chances to travel in traditional Egyptian style. At the Pyramids of Giza, you’ll mount your very own camel for a thrilling outing across the desert stands. Although it’s higher than any horse, you’ll soon get the hang of riding your "Ship of The Desert" and pose for the perfect holiday snap in front of the pyramids!
Although you’ll spend most of your time on the Nile cruising in total modern luxury, you’ll also get a taste of sailing this great river the traditional way. In Aswan, we’ll board a wooden felucca
sailboat and enjoy a scenic excursion around the lush islands below the First Cataracts. Sip sparkling wine as the boat’s lateen sails fill with the breeze and whisk you over the timeless waters.
Did you know?
’s rigging dates back to the Roman era, and was the favorite sail of the Age of Discovery because it allows boats to tack against the wind.
The inaugural voyage of a ship is always a special occasion, and there will be no shortage of opportunities to celebrate. We’ll toast the beginning of our Inaugural Journey at a cocktail party at the Nile Ritz-Carlton
in Cairo, followed by a sumptuous banquet and dancing.
On board ship, we’ll don traditional galabiyas (also known as Jellabiyas) for a fun party. Dressed like Egyptians, you’ll be ready to dance like Egyptians, and a vibrant Oriental show with lively music will set the mood for a festive night like no other. We’ll also be treated to a transfixing belly-dancing show after dinner one evening.
