DAY 19 : Santiago

After parting ways with the rest of the base tour at the Santiago airport, we'll transfer to the hotel and enjoy a relaxing night of leisure in the city.

 Included meals: Breakfast

DAY 20 : Santiago / Easter Island

After breakfast this morning, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Easter Island. We settle into our comfortable, family-owned hotel in Hanga Roa — the island capital and main hub — then set out on a guided tour of the town. Cultural Discovery: To help us understand the 1,000-year-old culture that still thrives here, we’ll meet with a local resident who will reveal the history of Rapa Nui people. Then, savor a memorable picnic lunch by Ahu Tahai, one of the oldest of the ancient moai (monoliths) for which the island is famous.

 Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner

DAY 21 : Easter Island

Today, we set out on a full-day guided tour of the island. The slopes of the volcano Rano Raraku provided the stone for the island’s mystical statues, and nearly half of the remaining giant stone faces are buried in the crater. We’ll visit this ancient quarry and many of its famous products, including Ahu Valhu, Ahu Nau Nau, and Ahu Tongariki, the largest ahu on the island. We’ll also enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and the chance to take a dip at Anakena Beach.

 Included meals: Breakfast & Lunch

DAY 22 : Easter Island

Today’s full-day excursion leads first to Orongo, a stone village and ceremonial center at the southwestern tip of the island. Discover what life is like at the edge of a volcanic caldera and admire views of steep cliffs, grassy slopes, and the sea. We continue on to Rapa Nui National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we’ll explore Vinapu, an archaeological site.

After lunch on your own, we head inland to Ahu Akivi, a particularly sacred site. Once an ancient celestial observatory, the site features seven identical moai that face toward the sunset during the Spring Equinox and face away from the sunrise during the Autumn Equinox — a unique phenomenon found nowhere else on the island.

 Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner

DAY 23 : Easter Island / Santiago

On our way to the airport this morning, we stop at the Easter Island post office, the farthest from any other on the planet. Feel free to drop off your postcards or purchase some of the island’s stamps as a souvenir. Then, we catch our return flight to Santiago. The remainder of the day and evening are at leisure.

 Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner

DAY 24 : Santiago / Return home

After a morning at leisure, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home.
