What to Expect
You’ll visit 5 countries in 20 nights, with 15 nights on the Ocean Explorer,
a one-night hotel stay in Sri Lanka, and two-night hotel stays in Singapore and Mumbai.
This is a comprehensive itinerary, but well balanced between moderate walking to light activities. Sightseeing is done via air-conditioned coaches with regional experts. There may be some uneven roads or terrain, especially in more rural areas or at historical sites. You may also opt to visit local beaches, especially in Phuket.
The different customs, friendly people, and rich history make this Southeast Asia tour unique. Many Southeast Asian countries practice Buddhism and uphold traditions of hospitality and optimism, so you will encounter good service wherever you travel. In developed destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, many people speak English — but many people do not. In some locales, you may encounter areas of poverty.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Shorts, short skirts, or revealing clothing are not appropriate, especially when visiting temples or religious sites. Your regional expert will tell you ahead of time which days require a dress code. We recommend you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, rain coat, and a toothbrush and toothpaste to use on board the ship. Bring sensible walking shoes which can be easily removed when required; sandals are ideal when visiting temples because they can be easily removed.
ONBOARD INTERNET AVAILABILITY:
While cruising, the Internet connectivity may be limited or unavailable depending on ship location, signal availability, and volume of onboard usage. Internet connectivity will be normal when at docking locations.
