What to Expect
Is this adventure for you?
Each Vantage Adventure is designed to help you fully experience local culture and to get out and explore while keeping active. We find these are the two most fulfilling and rewarding ways to transform any trip into an adventure, and into the experience of a lifetime. To that end, we’ve rated each trip to indicate the level of cultural immersion and physical activity, with “1” being the lowest and “3” being the highest.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Most sightseeing during your Iceland travel itinerary will be on coaches with guides, and all hotels are in convenient locations. However, a number of sightseeing trips are in natural parks and will involve walking over potentially uneven ground, so passengers should be aware of their surroundings and wear proper walking attire.
PACING: Your Iceland adventure includes 9 destinations in 13 nights. There will be a series of visits and activities from each location.
- Please expect some walking on rugged paths and slippery, bumpy roads.
- One short hike on hiking trails, about 0.6 mile.
FOOD: Icelandic cuisine has a long history. Important parts of Icelandic cuisine consist of lamb, dairy, and especially fish due to Iceland's proximity to the ocean. Much of the cuisine’s taste is determined by the preservation methods used; pickling in fermented whey or brine, and drying and smoking are common. Vantage Deluxe World Travel has carefully selected the best meals from a variety of international menus at each location we visit.
PRECAUTIONS: There are few significant safety and security concerns in Iceland. The tap water is clean and fresh; water in general is consumable even from rivers! Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world; its crime rate is extremely low. We do advise you, however, to prepare for possibly challenging weather conditions by packing suitable, waterproof clothing and walking and/or hiking shoes with good tread.
CULTURAL IMMERSION: This Iceland travel itinerary offers great cultural opportunities to explore the nature and history of Iceland through guided tours.
