We just returned from the Iceland Adventure with our wonderful Cruise Director Jorn Hendrix. No words can express how great this trip was and how "taken care of" we felt with Jorn. Iceland is a wonderland of beauty with people to match. We began the trip with a private walking tour of Reykjavik, which we definitely would recommend. It helped ward off any jet lag, plus gave us an up close visit with many of the sights we would not have had the opportunity to see had we not booked it. Weather was perfect and Jorn took credit for that :-), which we gave him. The ship was also great. Like a large river cruise ship with 7 floors. We had 23 in our group, which meant that we were able to travel together and not be separated into multiple busses. We were lucky also to have a wonderful group to travel with. All well-traveled and interesting. If you are thinking about booking this tour, do it. You won't regret it. Thanks again Jorn!!!

This was one of the best Vantage trips we've been on. It was well organized, the locations selected were spectacular and the local guides were excellent. Jorn was the best trip leader we've been with after many Vantage tours. The hotel was superior and the boat was well designed for Iceland. Every selected location was an excellent pick and really helped get a very good feel for the country.
Iceland is a beautiful country and seeing it by small ship was a wonderful and convenient way to experience much more than a land tour could have offered. We had wonderful local guides, especially Helmut and Stu. But most important, we had an outstanding tour leader in Dorothee Hipple. Dorothee was well organized, hard working, and personable with an excellent sense of humor. She really couldn't have been any better and we were lucky to have her.
This was an amazing adventure from beginning to end. The weather cooperated for the most part and we enjoyed so many different experiences. From the trip up to the glacier and actually walking on it, to zodiac boat tours, and even the whale watching in RIP boats was awesome. The Herring Museum reenactment was entertaining and I feel we saw so much of Iceland and got to appreciate its beauty, history and current life. The trip was well planned, well organized and the entire group had a wonderful trip. I highly recommend this adventure,
We enjoyed the trip thoroughly. Lots of various activities and excursions, good food. Saw whales (humpback), puffins, swans, ducks, gulls, arctic terns, sheep, Icelandic horses, waterfalls, glaciers, icebergs, Herring Museum and live action Herring Girls, soaked in hot blue lagoons, forded streams in our "bus", and enjoyed being taken care of!
This was a terrific adventure. Loved every aspect of it. No complaints. Jorn Hendrikx was a wonderful tour leader. Also Verina and Herman were excellent. Every aspect of the trip was carefully planned and nicely executed.
This tour is worth every penny. Iceland is a rugged, beautiful and unique place....not to be missed. Our Program Director, Hildur, made this an exceptional adventure. Being a born Icelander, she gave us great information and insight into her country. Thanks Hildur!
This took us "up close and personal" with nature. Geothermal springs and activity, including watching geysers; volcanic lava fields of various ages; being called by the hotel in the middle of the night to watch the northern lights; watching humpbacks breach from as close as 10 feet from our little boat; descending deep into a glacier and studying the way it moves and develops; straddling the fissures between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates; soaking in the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa; watching numerous waterfalls, including Europe's largest - all this with an excellent guide who kept us informed, and sometimes regaled with stories of trolls and hidden people. It is fair to say that the hotels in the interior are not the same standard we normally look for, but what we saw and experienced made that less important.
Great trip. Tour Director Helga was excellent as was our bus driver Fred. Iceland is a must see country. The waterfalls and lava formations were a sight to behold. I really enjoyed the Icelandic Horses and the horse show. We were so fortunate to be in Iceland when the island is covered in Lupine flowers. The hotels were clean and comfortable. The food was exceptional and very creative. You must like lamb and cod for this trip. The whale watching trip and the Blue Lagoon were a lot of fun.
I so enjoyed touring this mysterious Island. Our Tour Director, Helga, and our Bus Driver, Fred brought everything alive. I feel like we were privileged and honored to have such fine, knowledgeable and funny citizens of Iceland to educate our Small Group. Many, many sites were included in this tour package. I was most touched by the sweet and gorgeous Icelandic horses. Each of us had a special need throughout our journey. Helga and Fred were adept at both answering our many questions, and dealing with some difficult customer situations. We had several close calls on the Icelandic roads due to other drivers cutting right in front of our huge tour bus. Fred reacted very quickly to prevent a terrible accident each time. He also was vigilant in making sure our Bus was repaired about a third into our tour. I enjoyed the communication between Helga and Fred. Both are kind and have great senses of humor. I also learned much from Helga about the role that Folklore plays in Iceland. This is one beautiful and pristine country, full of kind, smart and hardworking people. I have already recommended this Journey to many of my friends. A life changing experience 💖
