What to Expect
Moderate to Active activity level
16 destinations in 16 nights: 2 nights in Athens (one night before your cruise and one night after your cruise) and 14 nights on board the M/Y Harmony V
. There are some sightseeing transfers via motorcoach, but none are long. The cruise includes 15 ports of call in addition to Athens, the point of embarkation and disembarkation. Most ports of call are for full day and evening, with no tendering (with the exception of Santorini) so that you can walk from ship ramp to shore.
ABOARD SHIP: Cabins aboard the M/Y Harmony V are not the same size as those on Vantage river boats, but are typical of the small ships that cruise in these destinations. Swimming/swim stops during your cruise are subject to special permission of port agents, weather conditions, and captain’s discretion.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Sightseeing is on air-conditioned coaches with guides and there are many walking tours through historic city centers. Steps are to be expected, as well as occasional steep and/or uneven terrain. Ship and tours are not suitable for wheelchairs or other mobility aids. This Aegean cruise tour is not suitable for passengers with walking difficulties. Please refer to Vantage's wheelchair and handicapped traveler policy. Be advised that the M/Y Harmony V does not have an elevator. Please let our Reservations Specialist know when booking if you require the use of an elevator so that they can work with you to select an alternative tour.
CULTURAL FOCUS: This is an opportunity to experience classic island ports of the north and south Aegean Sea, such as Crete, Santorini, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Patmos, and including many smaller islands, plus Athens. Focus is on the history and culture of an ancient, very diverse area of Greece. You'll enjoy a variety of cuisines, music, and customs while meeting some of the people of the areas you'll visit. Regional lectures and cuisine selections are available on most days.
