The most popular of the helicopter flights, it lifts off less than two miles from Victoria Falls town center and takes you over the Zambezi River to fly a complete circuit above the Falls in both directions. It’s easy to develop a bond with these intelligent creatures after spending an afternoon with them. You will also visit a local village. Cultural Discovery: This afternoon, we visit the Chinotimba Primary School, where we meet some delightful children eager to share their lessons. Many travelers say this is one of the unexpected highlights of the trip — it’s easy to fall in love with these friendly children and to admire the work of the teachers and administrators. We are greeted with bright smiles and waves from the children and get a chance to interact with them and learn about their lives. Vantage Cares, our philanthropic arm, supports the school, so you can see firsthand the good that you’re helping to do by traveling. Later, you might embark on an optional “Trails of David Livingstone” cruise on the wild Zambezi River, an ideal backdrop for a talk about the history and culture of the region with a third-generation Zimbabwean. As you float on the same stretch of river that the legendary explorer once drifted down, your storyteller will elucidate parts of Livingstone lore that the statues and history books don’t often tell. There’s no doubt that, after hearing this riveting tale, you’ll look at Livingstone’s life a little differently. Cultural Discovery: This evening, we drive into Victoria Falls National Park for a true Africa experience — a three-course dinner in the bush beneath a blanket of stars. Enhance your African safari tour by floating above it all as you embark on the balloon ride of a lifetime. This one hour flight will give you a bird’s eye view of the best East Africa has to offer, in the magnificent setting of the Great Rift Valley. A champagne breakfast in the bush after you land adds to the buzz you will get from the early morning air, and the sights and sounds that only an eagle ever sees. The morning drive back to your camp/lodge offers more opportunities for game viewing. Early morning is the ideal time to see wild animals on the plains. In the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya on safari, it is an experience you will never forget.

DAY 29:

A delightful dinner, then fly home from Nairobi airport

Our African wildlife safari comes to an end as we transfer to the airport for an evening flight, arriving home the next day. You have now joined a collection of intrepid adventurers who have roamed this land and fallen under its spell. The memories will last a lifetime.
