What to Expect
Each Vantage Adventure is designed to help you fully experience local culture and to get out and explore while keeping active. We find these are the two most fulfilling and rewarding ways to transform any trip into an adventure, and into the experience of a lifetime. To that end, we’ve rated each trip to indicate the level of cultural immersion and physical activity, with “1” being the lowest and “3” being the highest.
Your amazing once-in-a-lifetime Around the World adventure gives you the opportunity to experience a variety of cultures, cuisines, and languages as you encircle the globe. You have many chances to interact with local residents and sample local foods during excursions, and Cultural Discovery events and activities. At the same time, you will be enjoying all the familiar comforts of home—and then some—at some of the world’s best five-star hotels.
We employ many kinds of transportation throughout our adventure, including planes, motorcoaches, limousines, motorboats, a river cruise ship, cable cars, and funiculars. During your safari you will often travel on very bumpy and dusty roads aboard 4x4 vehicles. Most tours feature easy to moderate walking; because of the great variety in this adventure, the activity level shown should be considered an average, with many, if not most excursions well within the capabilities of a reasonably fit traveler. However, there are some strenuous walks around Iguassu Falls and in coastal Valparaiso, where we encounter uneven terrain, cobbled lanes, stairways, paving stones, and high altitude. As such, this trip is not suitable for travelers using wheelchairs, walker or other mobility aids. Our adventure takes us through many airports; in larger cities, such as Cairo and Johannesburg, they can be tiring because of security lines and check-ins.
