Fly to Vancouver, one of North America’s most dynamic and livable cities
Begin your adventure through the majestic Canadian Rockies with a flight to Vancouver, British Columbia. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a Vantage representative who will assist you with your transfer to our hotel in downtown Vancouver. This afternoon, feel free to explore some of this bustling city at your leisure. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a Welcome Reception & Dinner at the hotel.
Vancouver city tour and thrills on the Capilano Suspension Bridge
After breakfast, enjoy a morning city tour, which includes Stanley Park, Chinatown, English Bay and admission to the Capiliano Bridge. Originally built in 1889 with hemp ropes and cedar planks, today this popular landmark is a unique and thrilling way to admire the beauty of this area. The incredible views from this famed span are a perfect preview of the natural splendor that awaits. Multigenerational Feature: After crossing the Capilano Bridge, kids can traverse the rainforest via treetop platforms and even check out a treehouse! We’ll return to the hotel for lunch, and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore on your own. One popular choice among travelers is Granville Island, a former industrial center that has been completely transformed into a vibrant center of markets, entertainment, and great food.
Venture to Whistler and marvel at the pristine panorama from the Peak 2 Peak Gondola
Today, enjoy a full-day excursion as we follow the Sea to Sky Highway to the mountain resort of Whistler. The route we’ll take is replete with breathtaking vistas, so we’ll stop along the way to take some photos and enjoy a short walk to Brandywine Falls, a beautiful 230-foot cascade. Then, arrive at Whistler-Blackcombe Resort and hop on the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, which will whisk us between the peaks of the mighty mountains for which the resort is named. The jaw-dropping views from this gondola, which holds the world record for longest span between two towers for a cable car, will have us reaching for our camera and standing in awestruck silence. At the terminus of the ride, we’ll enjoy a delightful lunch on the mountain. We return to the hotel in time for dinner, and your evening is at leisure.
A morning at leisure and soaring in a seaplane to Victoria
After breakfast, we’ll have the morning free to explore some more of Vancouver, or simply relax and enjoy lunch on our own. Your Adventure Leader can offer suggestions on great places to enjoy a bite to eat. In the afternoon, you’re in for a thrill when you board a seaplane from Vancouver to Victoria. This short but scenic flight allows you to see the natural and urban treasures of this region from above — be sure to keep an eye out for whales in the water! We’ll arrive in Victoria and transfer to our hotel, where we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner.
A walking tour of Victoria and the brilliant colors of world-famous gardens
Join a walking tour of Victoria this morning. The capital of British Columbia, Victoria enjoys a stunning mix of ocean and mountain vistas. We’ll then visit Butchart Gardens and Victoria Butterfly Gardens. Multigenerational Features: At the Butchart Gardens, the Rose Carousel — the animals of which were handpicked by the great-granddaughter of the garden’s founder — will no doubt enrapture them. The Victoria Butterfly Gardens will fascinate the younger members of your crew, as they watch the beautiful, free-flying butterflies, not to mention walking around its tropical gardens full of birds, turtles, and fish.
Enjoy special accommodations on a high-speed ferry to Seattle
Today we head for the energetic city of Seattle, the last leg of our North American adventure. We’ll depart Victoria via the Victoria Clipper, a high-speed ferry with multiple viewing decks and amenities, for a relaxing way to take in the sights. Best of all, we’ll enjoy Comfort Class seats, which include priority check-in, complimentary snacks and nonalcoholic beverages, and the best views on the ship. Savor an included lunch on board before arriving in Seattle, where we’ll be transferred to our deluxe hotel. Dinner is included this evening.
Modern marvels, mind-blowing art, and chocolate in Seattle
Active Feature: Embark on a city tour, which includes stops at Ballard Locks as well as Theo’s Chocolate Shop. Adults and kids alike will enjoy watching as ships use the locks to pass between Lake Union and Puget Sound (or checking out the fish ladder, which salmon use to swim upstream to Lake Washington). And everyone will enjoy learning about the bean-to-bar process of creating Theo’s famed chocolates — especially when they get to sample them at the end!
As if that were not enough, admission is included to both the Space Needle and the Chihuly Garden and Glass. The former is iconic — the symbol of the city itself and a must-see while in Seattle — while the latter features the glass artwork of Dale Chihuly, whose stunning, how-did-he-do-that work has been admired all over the world. You’ll return to your hotel in the afternoon. Lunch is on your own, and you'll enjoy a delightful Farewell Dinner this evening at a local restaurant.
Return home or begin your extension
After an included breakfast at the hotel this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight home. Or, if you have purchased the post-trip extension, you’ll remain in Seattle.
