Arrive in Calgary and enjoy a Welcome Dinner
Arrive in Calgary today to begin your tour of Canada’s canyon lands. You’ll be greeted by a Vantage representative, who will assist with the transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, you can explore the Western culture of this unique city before a enjoying a reception and delicious Welcome Dinner at our hotel’s award-winning bistro this evening.
Savor lunch at the famous Emerald Lake Lodge and explore Yoho National Park
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Yoho National Park, stopping for lunch at the famed Emerald Lake Lodge. This historic time lodge looks out over a picture-perfect glacial lake of brilliant green, offering outstanding ambience for our meal. The natural splendor of Yoho (whose name is a Cree exclamation of awe) is reason enough to visit – and this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a great introduction to the Canadian wilds. Yet you’ll also see the famed Spiral Tunnels, a 100-year-old marvel of engineering, as well as Natural Bridge, a remarkable rock formation over the Kicking Horse River. Your day also includes a stop at stunning Sunwapta Falls, a perfect opportunity to capture unforgettable photos, as you make your way to Jasper. Dinner is at your hotel, and your evening is at leisure.
Scenic Maligne Lake cruising and a Spirit Island nature walk
Multigenerational Feature: This morning after breakfast, you’ll go on an easy walk down the Maligne Canyon to see how the water, over millennia, has etched this remarkable natural landscape. This is an leisurely stroll with amazing scenery, so it’s great for kids. Walk along the upper parts of the canyon, taking in views of the waterfalls, as well as the first and second bridges that span the narrow gorge. We’ll then head to Maligne Lake, where we’ll enjoy an included lunch at the Maligne Lake Chalet & Guest House. This rustic lodge was built between 1927 and 1941, and has been listed as a national historic site in Canada since 2014. Revel in the rustic decor, admiring the peeled log construction style, while enjoying your lunch in this beautiful setting. After lunch, we’ll set off on a breathtaking cruise along the glacier-fed Maligne Lake, a jade-colored treasure in the heart of these Canadian wilds. We’ll enjoy a guided tour taking in the full panorama, on our way to Spirit Island. Accessible only by boat, Spirit Island is one of the most photographed places in all of Canada, and we’ll enjoy a short nature walk here. After returning to shore, we’ll drive back to the hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure. Dinner is on your own.
Morning at leisure and then a mountainous panorama aboard the Jasper Skytram
After breakfast, your morning will be at leisure. Then you’ll travel by coach to the longest and highest guided aerial tramway in Canada: the Jasper Skytram. You’ll travel for seven minutes to an altitude of more than 7,400 feet, as a guide onsite points out sights. The views will be breathtaking, and we’ll touch down at Upper Station for a panorama of lakes, rivers, and mountain peaks that will have you reaching for your camera once again. There will be time at the top to truly absorb the beauty, before you return to your hotel for an afternoon and evening at leisure. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Ride on a glacier in a specially fitted snow coach and stroll along the Glacier Skywalk
Continuing our epic journey today, we’ll travel the legendary Icefields Parkway, the scenic stretch that connects Banff and Jasper national parks. Along the way, soak in views of majestic peaks, ice-blue glaciers, and thick pine forests. Unforgettable Moment: Along the way you’ll make a number of stops for sightseeing, including at the picturesque Athabasca Falls and the Columbia Icefield Centre. Later, you’ll embark on a special snow coach ride specifically designed to drive over the 900-foot-thick Athabasca Glacier. Multigenerational Feature: The perfect end to this experience is a stroll on the Glacier Skywalk, where you can view waterfalls, wildlife, fossils and more on an exciting one kilometer walkway that leads to a glass viewing platform. Lunch is included, and we’ll have even more world-famous scenery for you after we’re done. You’ll make a photo stop at legendary Lake Louise, one of Canada’s most jaw-droppingly picturesque vistas. We’ll then travel to Banff, where we’ll check in to our hotel and enjoy an included dinner.

Unforgettable Moment: This morning, you’ll enjoy incredible aerial views of Banff as we embark on a gondola ride up the side of Sulphur Mountain. At the top, step out onto the 360-degree observation deck for jaw-dropping views of the surrounding Rockies. Multigenerational Feature: There is so much for all ages to appreciate here at the peak. For one, there’s the short and easy hike along a boardwalk. The whole family can marvel at the surrounding views of Bow Valley, Lake Minnewanka, and more, as you sit and learn about this region from the interpretive signs posted along the way. Cultural Connection: We’ll then get unique insights and stories about the Royal Canadian Mountain Police from an actual “mountie.” Dinner is on your own this evening.
Full day to explore Banff on your own, including a special pass to local museums
Multigenerational & Active Feature: You’ll have a full day to explore the beauty of Banff, and you’ll have a tool designed to maximize your explorations: the Banff Heritage Passport, which includes admission to the popular Whyte Museum and Buffalo Nations Museum. There’s so much for you to experience here: you may wish to embark on a guided nature walk, seize the opportunity for horseback riding or mountain biking, or rent a canoe or kayak and travel the Bow River. Whatever activity calls to you most, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to delve into the rich natural gems of this magnificent park with your family, friends, and favorite travel partners. Tonight, share your Banff adventure tales with fellow travelers during a Farewell Dinner back at the hotel.
Fly to Vancouver, one of North America’s most dynamic and livable cities
After an included breakfast at the hotel this morning, you’ll transfer to Calgary for your flight to Vancouver, British Columbia. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a Vantage representative who will assist you with your transfer to our hotel in downtown Vancouver. This afternoon, feel free to explore some of this bustling city at your leisure. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a Welcome reception and dinner at the hotel.
Vancouver city tour and thrills on the Capilano Suspension Bridge
After breakfast, enjoy a morning city tour, which includes Stanley Park, Chinatown, English Bay and admission to the Capiliano Bridge. Originally built in 1889 with hemp ropes and cedar planks, today this popular landmark is a unique and thrilling way to admire the beauty of this area. The incredible views from this famed span are a perfect preview of the natural splendor that awaits. Multigenerational Feature: After crossing the Capilano Bridge, kids can traverse the rainforest via treetop platforms and even check out a treehouse! We’ll return to the hotel for lunch, and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore on your own. One popular choice among travelers is Granville Island, a former industrial center that has been completely transformed into a vibrant center of markets, entertainment, and great food.
Venture to Whistler and marvel at the pristine panorama from the Peak 2 Peak Gondola
Today, a full-day excursion as we follow the Sea to Sky Highway to the mountain resort of Whistler. The route we’ll take is replete with breathtaking vistas, so we’ll stop along the way to take some photos and enjoy a short walk to Brandywine Falls, a beautiful 230-foot cascade. Then, arrive at Whistler-Blackcombe Resort and hop on the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, which will whisk us between the peaks of the mighty mountains for which the resort is named. The jaw-dropping views from this gondola, which holds the world record for longest span between two towers for a cable car, will have us reaching for our camera and standing in awestruck silence. At the terminus of the ride, we’ll enjoy a delightful lunch on the mountain. We return to the hotel in time for dinner, and your evening is at leisure.
A morning at leisure and soaring in a seaplane to Victoria
After breakfast, we’ll have the morning free to explore some more of Vancouver, or simply relax, and enjoy lunch on our own. Your Adventure Leader can offers suggestions on great places to enjoy a bite to eat. In the afternoon, you’re in for a thrill when you board a seaplane from Vancouver to Victoria. This short but scenic flight allows you to see the natural and urban treasures of this region from above — be sure to keep an eye out for whales in the water! We’ll arrive in Victoria and transfer to our hotel, where we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner.
A walking tour of Victoria and the brilliant colors of world-famous gardens
Join a walking tour of Victoria this morning. The capital of British Columbia, Victoria enjoys a stunning mix of ocean and mountain vistas. We’ll then visit Butchart Gardens and Butterfly Gardens. Multigenerational Features: At the Butchart Gardens, the Rose Carousel — the animals of which were hand-picked by the great-granddaughter of the garden’s Founder — will no doubt enrapture them. The Victoria Butterfly Gardens will fascinate the younger members of your crew, as they watch the beautiful, free-flying butterflies, not to mention walking around its tropical gardens full of birds, turtles, and fish.
Enjoy special accommodations on a high-speed ferry to Seattle
Today we head for the energetic city of Seattle, the last leg of our North American adventure. We’ll depart Victoria via the Victoria Clipper, a high-speed ferry with multiple viewing decks and amenities, for a relaxing way to take in the sights. Best of all, we’ll enjoy Comfort Class seats, which includes priority check-in, complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, and the best views on the ship. Savor an included lunch onboard before arriving in Seattle, where we’ll be transferred to our deluxe hotel. Dinner is included this evening.
Modern marvels, mind-blowing art, and Chocolate in Seattle
Active Feature: Embark on a city tour, which includes stops at Ballard Locks as well as Theo’s Chocolate Shop. Adults and kids alike will enjoy watching as ships use the locks to pass between Lake Union and Puget Sound (or checking out the fish ladder, which salmon use to swim upstream to Lake Washington). And everyone will enjoy learning about the bean-to-bar process of creating Theo’s famed chocolates – especially when they get to sample them at the end!
As if that were not enough, admission is included to both the Space Needle and the Chihuly Garden and Glass. The former is iconic – the symbol of the city itself and a must-see while in Seattle – while the latter features the glass artwork of Dale Chiluly, whose stunning, how-did-he-do-that work has been admired all over the world. You’ll return to your hotel in the afternoon. Lunch is on your own, and you'll enjoy a delightful Farewell Dinner this evening at a local restaurant.
Return home or begin your extension
After an included breakfast at the hotel this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight home. Or, if you have purchased the post-trip extension, you’ll remain in Seattle.
