Today you’ll fly to Seattle, the Emerald City. If you purchased your airfare from Vantage, you’ll be met at the airport upon arrival and assisted with your transfer to the hotel. Join a welcome briefing & reception with your Adventure Leader at the hotel.
Exploring Seattle: Pike Place Market, Space Needle, and more
Today’s panoramic tour of Seattle takes you to the iconic Space Needle, Pioneer Square, and the central waterfront. Tour the famed Pike Place Market and enjoy a tasting of its wares — you’ll also have time for lunch on your own here. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a Welcome Dinner.
Depart Seattle for funky, indie-spirited Portland
After breakfast, we’ll head to Portland and embark on a lunchtime cruise down the Willamette River, where you’ll view the city’s skyline and surroundings. Back on land, you’ll join an included city tour that brings you to the International Rose Test Garden, Powell’s Books, the Pear District, and Nob Hill.
Unveil Portland’s natural beauty at Multnomah Falls and beyond
Venture along a historic stagecoach route today to the spectacular Multnomah Falls, which plunges more than 600 feet into a silvery stream. You’ll also view the aptly named Horsetail Falls and the Columbia River Gorge en route to the Bonneville Lock and Dam Project for a self-guided tour. Lunch brings us to the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel, built by businessman and developer Simon Benson, who was instrumental in Portland’s development. Dinner is at our hotel in Portland tonight.

Today’s journey follows scenic highways past protected forests and dairy farms to the village of Tillamook. Taste artisanal cheeses at the Tillamook Cheese Factory before lunch at nearby Blue Heron Farm. Scenic vistas continue unfolding this afternoon when we depart for Cape Meares Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge, where you might spot sea lions, whales, and seabirds. Continue along a picturesque loop to Cape Kiwanda before arriving at Gleneden Beach, which offers stunning views of the Pacific. Enjoy an Oregon wine and cheese tasting before dinner at a local restaurant.
Visit Depoe Bay and uncover Oregon’s artistic and natural highlights
This morning, enjoy a scenic drive to Depoe Bay and the Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint at Cape Foulweather, an ideal spot for whale watching. Spend some time at leisure at Nye Beach, then experience Oregon’s vibrant artists’ community on a visit to your choice of a glassblowing or pottery studio. Later, head to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, where your entrance is included. Or, enjoy the entire day at leisure, and perhaps take the time to play golf or pamper yourself with a spa session.
Visit Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Heceta Lighthouse, and Old Town Florence
Take in sweeping views of the bay from Yaquina Head Lighthouse and venture to the tidal pools at nearby Quarry Cove, home to starfish, sea urchins, hermit crabs, and more. Stop at Cooks Chasm to take photos. Then, visit Heceta Lighthouse and ride to Old Town Florence for lunch on your own and free time. You’ll arrive late afternoon in the charming coastal town of Bandon, where you’ll take a scenic ride. In Bandon, you can fish for crab with a local fisherman or hunt for agate and driftwood at the jetty before reconvening for dinner at a local restaurant.
Explore the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Nature’s wonders abound all along today’s path. At the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, known for its colossal rock formations, keep your eyes peeled for sea lions, seals, puffins, oyster catchers, and cormorants. Crossing into California, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and a stop at the Crescent City Redwoods Visitor's Center. After, stroll the nature trails of UNESCO-listed Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park; you’ll learn more about the mighty redwood and wildlife during a chat and guided nature walk with a park ranger.

This afternoon, your included tour continues to the largest Chinatown outside of Asia, bustling Union Square and the swanky Nob Hill neighborhood.
